The Monk and Tipster is a very quaint pub, bigger than it looks from the outside and is situated in Towcester.
It is a traditional olde worlde looking pub, with lots of beams and 2 fireplaces, giving it a wonderful cosy feel and with friendly staff throughout this makes it a fantastic place for everyone to be, young or old. The Monk and Tipster has bar meals so customers will never go hungry, as well as accommodation, for those customers wishing to spend to night. There are 3 different seating areas as well as the pool area to keep customers amused.
Thursday is Bingo night and Sunday is Carvery day. This pub has lots of character that embraces you when you enter. The accommodation access is quirky to say the least.
A little bit of history -
In 1857 Francis Montgomery of Heathencote starts manufacturing soda and mineral water on Watling street in Towcester at the inn today known as the "Monk and Tipster" (formerly the "Watling Well" and also the "Sun".)
